Abeer Talaat, the Coptic woman who was behind the sectarian tension in the Cairo suburb of Imaba, was granted a divorce from her Coptic husband after he refused to convert to Islam. Talaat, 25, filed a petition for a divorce on 20 March in the Family Court in the Kuweisna in the governorate of Menoufiya, where her husband lives. The case was postponed to 17 April then 26 June. Talaat was allegedly held captive in the Mar Mina Church in Giza, which led Muslims to protest in front of the church. This lead to clashes, which left at least 12 dead and hundreds injured.
