How to make your teen accept your divorceIt might not be an easy task to make your teens understand the reasons for the family splitting. Here are few ways to keep it calm and positive... Confirm to the teenager that the divorce has nothing to do with him or her. If emotional issues arise, remain positive and loving. Help them understand the reasons for the family splitting.

Discuss openly how the divorce affects everyone involved placing no blame on the teen, but listen and understand the issues that he\she faces. Offer respectfully positive inputs about the ex-spouse, remembering the teen loves both the parents all the while working on getting along with the ex-spouse.

Ensure your continued financial support for the teen. The promises of a car or college remain viable issues through uncertain times. And keeping your word for your teen’s future garners respect while alleviating unnecessary stress. Stay involved with the teenager’s life  visiting and participating in outside activities helps them feel secure and lessen feelings of abandonment. Keep negative issues and communication involving you and your ex-spouse between yourselves without the teenager pivoting in the middle.
